About us

The school was founded by Ms. Gertrude Tumusiime, a then business woman, who had nurtured a dream of helping less privileged people who could not afford modern day primary school education.She developed this passion due to her background which didn’t favour her to gain any recognisable level of education. By hard work, resilience and humility coupled with her continued focus on her dreams and goals, she hustled through life until she realised the birth of her long awaited dream.

Given her desire to join the education sector as a proprietor and an entrepreneur, at 45 years of age, she went back to school in 2015 and sat for her Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE). After registering that success, she continued through the O and A Levels. Currently she is pursuing a Diploma in Early Childhood Development (ECD) at Ndejje University

Origin of the Name: Given the broadness and clarity of the proprietor’s vision, the selection of the school name was based on “Aiming at higher Horizons.” The name SKYLARK refers to a beautiful bird (a type of lark) which loves to mount skyward while singing a beautiful song
